How do I place an order?

All orders are placed via WhatsApp. Browse our catalog, find a saree you love, and tap "Order on WhatsApp" on the product page. A pre-filled message with the saree's details will open in WhatsApp — simply send it and we'll confirm availability, finalize your address, and arrange dispatch. It takes under two minutes.

What does 'Only 1 piece' mean?

Many of the sarees on Akriti Vastra are genuine one-of-a-kind pieces — woven in a single run, sometimes to a design the weaver may not repeat. Once a piece marked "Only 1 piece" is sold, it's gone. We recommend not waiting if a piece speaks to you.

Do you ship across India?

Free shipping across India — no minimum order. Delivered in 5–8 days from the date of order, tracked.

How do you handle payment?

We accept payment via UPI, confirmed directly on WhatsApp once your order and address are finalized. Every piece is quality-checked before dispatch and securely packed and insured in transit.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Accepted Answer

We accept returns on defective pieces only, and every claim must be supported by an unboxing video that clearly shows the defect. We do not offer exchanges, and we are unable to accept returns for change of mind. Please start recording before you open the parcel — a claim cannot be verified once it has been opened off-camera. What if my order arrives damaged or defective?

Every saree is inspected and securely packed before dispatch. In the rare case a piece arrives with a genuine defect or damaged in transit, we will take it back and refund you in full, including the cost of returning it. We do need an unboxing video that starts before the parcel is opened and clearly shows the defect — please begin recording before you open it, as a claim cannot be verified once the parcel has been opened off-camera. Message us on WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery with the video and close-up photographs.

Can you arrange blouse stitching?

Several of our sarees come with an unstitched blouse piece. If you need stitching, let us know at the time of ordering via WhatsApp and we can provide a referral to a trusted tailor in your city, or help coordinate a standard stitching service for an additional charge.

Are the colours accurate in photos?

Accepted Answer

We photograph every saree in natural light and show multiple angles including close-ups of the weave and zari. Screen calibration varies, so the exact shade may look slightly different in person — but we describe colours honestly and flag any unusual undertones in the product notes. If you need to verify a specific shade before purchasing, send us a WhatsApp message and we can share an in-hand video.

How should I care for my saree?

Care varies by fabric — silk, cotton, georgette, and Tussar each have specific needs. We have a detailed guide on our Care Guide page. The short version: dry-clean heavily worked pieces for the first few washes, avoid direct sunlight for storage, and store in breathable muslin rather than airtight plastic.

We are currently focused on serving customers within India. International shipping involves complex customs paperwork for textiles; we are working on making this available. If you are based abroad and need a specific piece, reach out on WhatsApp — we will explore options on a case-by-case basis.
